On 12 October 1965, The Beatles returned to EMI Studios to begin recording their sixth LP – a veritable game changer – Rubber Soul. And on this very first evening of work, they tackled two new Lennon songs that would make history: a rocker, “Run for Your Life” and a wry 26-line piece of poetry to which George Harrison would add something entirely new…a bit of sitar, “Norwegian Wood.” Join Jude Southerland Kessler and Beatles music expert and author Bruce Spizer for “An Evening with ‘Norwegian Wood'” – it’s origins, innovations, and possible meanings. Spizer will share information from his book, “The Beatles Rubber Soul to Revolver.” With “Focal Points” customarily cool Power Point by the artistic Rande Kessler…and our traditional trivia contest, this will be a night to remember!
